Geothermal products datasheets
The Energy coming from earth’s subsoil in the form of heating is an eco-friendly, unlimited resource and above all it is free. From 20 mt depth, the underground temperature is constant regardless of the outside climate and it increases 1 °C every 30 mt (more or less) further down. The development of renewable energy technologies has produced cutting edge systems which exploit this energy for heating and cooling. This kind of space conditioning system makes use of polyethylene loops lowered into the ground and heat pumps.
The loops can be laid horizontally into large digs, which require wide space availability, or vertically into one or more geothermal wells.
The geothermal well:
The construction of a geothermal closed loop system requires the drilling of one or more wells which diameters usually range from 130 to 200 mm and which depths change depending on the requested heat load (usually from 50 to 150 mt). Once the drilling is finished, the loop is lowered inside the bore-hole with a weight and the well has to be grouted. The grouting phase is sometimes undervalued but is instead essential to preserve the subsoil and avoid aquifers pollution as well as for increasing the efficiency of the heat loop by using a geothermal grout.
The Geothermal grout:
Our customers can choose among 3 excellent products for geothermal grout preparing:
-
Geoseal, geothermal bentonite to be mixed with silica sand on site
-
Thermo-seal, one bag geothermal bentonite and silica sand mixed and ready to use
-
Thermofill is a pre-mixed product, ready to be used for the filling of the geothermal borehole
